The jet hummed softly in the background, but inside the cabin, it was suffocatingly quiet.
Hayden hadn't moved. Not even an inch. He still lay over her, skin damp, chest rising and falling against hers as if he were breathing through her lungs. His hand was spread across her stomach, splayed out like he was marking territory. His other arm lay beneath her neck, curled so tightly around her that even the air between them couldn't breathe.
